Church Ministries

MISSION WORKDAY: We are planning to start our Mission Day Quilting Sept. 12 in the Education Building from 1 pm to 3 pm, when we will stop to have coffee and goodies. We are always looking for people to come & join us. If you like to tie knots, cut fabric, sew, or put tops together and visit while doing all of the above, we would love to have you join us. We meet every other Tuesday afternoon. This past year we gave away 41 quilts of various sizes. From twin, double, lap, crib, to doll size. We also collect fabric that is in condition for quilting if anyone has some to donate. We are very grateful for the donations that have  been made. This helps us to keep this ministry alive.  Any questions, contact Mary Ann Gross  360-354-2387.

LADIES NIGHT: We feel that connecting with women, both in small and large groups, offers a wonderful opportunity to learn more about each other and to enjoy a fun and entertaining night. We have these events every few months and they are always a good time filled with lots of laughter,  great conversations, and a huge amount  of delicious food. Be sure to look for the next event in the bulletin and sign–up!

MEN’S BREAKFAST: Are you a guy? Do you like to eat? Then this breakfast is a PERFECT opportunity for you to get to know other men of all ages from your church family and enjoy some awesome fellowship & good food. Be sure to watch the bulletin for the next men’s breakfast. You won’t want to miss it!

SENIOR MINISTRIES: We love and appreciate our senior saints and every few months we offer activities for those who are 65 and older to get together to enjoy some good food, fun fellowship and games. We also have an annual barbeque out at the Tjoelker’s home in July.

Prayer Ministries

Join us from 7-8 pm on the 22nd day of every month or the 2nd Wednesday of every month in the Office Building as we pray for our church, community, county and country. Even if you are not confident to pray aloud, your silent prayerful presence is a powerful blessing. It truly is a “sweet hour of prayer.” For more info, contact Bev Sterk at 360-354-8635.

PRAYER CHAIN: Prayer is a key part of our ministry of faith, and there are several ways you can be part of a corporate expression of prayer, praying in one accord with others in the Body of Christ.

Our prayer chain, using email and phone calls, is one way we communicate our prayer needs with each other. When we become aware of specific needs, with permission, we share these with our Second Family through the prayer chain. Anyone is welcome to request prayer through this opportunity, and everyone is welcome to be a part of the communication network relayed through email and phone, so you can pray on behalf of those requesting prayer. If you would like to be added to our prayer chain or would like to share a prayer request with us, you can email the office at: office@secondlyndencrc.com.

Another opportunity for prayer comes every Sunday morning after the worship service. We have prayer partners, including our church elders, available at the back of the church every Sunday morning to pray with anyone who asks. This can be for any reason, whether it’s praise or petition. It is an honor to pray with you and what you share is precious and will be protected.
